About Us


Hope for Hurting, Inc. began with the inspiration and zeal of Bishop Dr. Oliver Subryan from Ebenezer Church of God, Hyattsville, MD. In collaboration with his Church Outreach Coordinator, Dionne February, who shared the same passion and vision of helping and empowering others, they incorporated the organization June 2021, and it has been granted its’ 501(C) (3) status by the Internal Revenue Service.


The organization has developed a strategy with the hope of demonstrating God’s love and compassion in practical and tangible ways. We’re committed to empowering, assisting with basic needs and endlessly striving to help others be self-sufficient with confidence to thrive.



We Offer:

Emergency Assistance providing supplemental food items; financial assistance with rent, mortgage, or utility bills during a hardship i.e., loss of income, illness or injury, death, in addition we provide clothing and personal Care packages.


Special Assistance providing Holiday Gift Baskets during Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas; Summer Camp assistance, Tuition Assistance.


Empowerment Assistance providing ongoing Seminars or resources for Spirituality, Wellness, Financial, Mental Health; Suicidal Awareness

Our Services


We recognize that giving of yourself and extending a helping hand to others is the greatest selfless act we can ever give, hence we offer services that “Help and Empower others”.


Emergency Assistance


  1. Partial Financial Assistance

    Financial difficulties due to job loss, disability, medical emergencies or a health crisis can leave you hopeless but we’re here to provide a helping hand with rental/mortgage assistance, utility bill. Application will be completed on a first come first serve basis reviewed and approved based on application qualifications and funds availability

  2. Providing Emergency Staple Food Items

    Food insecurity continues to be at a rise within our community and many families are still seeking the need for help from local pantries to provide food on their tables. We partner with local Pantries to assist with staple food items with funds availability.

  3. Sharing of Clothing Donation & Care Packages

    Partner with local Pantry and Distribute collection of donated clothing and care packages upon Availability.


SPECIAL ASSISTANCE


  1. Helping-a-Family Holiday Season

    A Family experiencing undue hardship such as rent evictions, illness, job loss, etc during Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas can be overwhelming, many of them would go hungry instead of celebrating, we’re here to go the extra mile and help with bringing them joy and smiles with a fruit basket or food basket helping to make the Holiday bring a ray of Hope. Any families that have that need can contact us via 301-918-5722 and a team member will go over the application process.

  2. Back To School Supplies

    We have the desire to assist in enriching the lives of children as they prepare for their school year, partnering with local Back to School events, we provide school supplies for children based on funds availability.

  3. Summer Camp

    We believe that every child deserves a camp experience and if you’re in need of financial assistance to send your child to camp, we’re here to help you start off with up to $150 per child per household. Applications are reviewed and considered based on funds availability. Please contact us on 301-918-5722 for further information.

  4. College Freshman Assistance

    $500 tuition assistance per year is offered to a freshman student who demonstrates Good Academic standings, A+ grade average and have written an essay determining why he or she feels that they should receive the assistance.


EMPOWERMENT ASSISTANCE


There is always Hope regardless of whatever Emergency situation or hurt you may be experiencing, so we will go the extra mile and provide help and resources for those ready to make the necessary change to empower their lives.
